PRE-QUALIFYING GLOBAL TENDER NOTICE
FOR
PRINTING AND SUPPLY OF NEPALESE PAPER BANKNOTES
(First date of Publication 30 May 2007)

As per Nepal Rastra Bank Note Printing and Coin Minting Directives, 2063 (2007), global sealed tenders are hereby invited from Security Printers for pre-qualifying for printing and supply of Nepalese banknotes of different denominations as per the requirement of this bank alongwith the following particulars within 35 days at office hours from the first publication of this notice. If the said 35th day happens to be a holiday, the day shall be the following office day.

1. Year of incorporation and experience.

(a) Year of incorporation as a Security Printer.
(b) Experience of printing of banknotes (in years)

2. Ownership Status.

3. Last 3 years audited balance sheet and profit and loss account showing complete financial position, specifically the following headings clearly denominated either in U.S. Dollar or Euro or Pound Sterling or Canadian Dollar:

(a) Total Assets,
(b) Total Liquid Assets,
(c) Total Profit,
(d) Annual Transactions,
(e) Total Working Capital,
(f) Annual Turnover,
(g) Current liability,
(h) Total liability.

4. Annual production of last three years (in pieces of banknotes).

5. Valid ISO Certificate.

6. No. of countries for which banknotes are printed.

7. List of security features which can be incorporated in banknotes by the Security Printer excluding or in addition to the watermark and security thread.

8. List of different banknotes denominations printed by the Security Printer.

9. Whether the bidder has the facility of own security paper production plant.

10. Whether ink to be used in the bank notes is produced by the Security Printer.

11. Whether the Security Printer has the facility of printing cheque, credit card, passport etc.

12. Membership certificate of International Security Printers', if any.

13. Reward or Letter of Appreciation, if any.

14. The Security Printer should mention the name of place and country where the banknotes are to be printed, if such place and country is different from its parent company/organisation, the ISO certificate should be submitted of that country too.

15. Whether the Security Printer has its own Research and Development Unit.

16. Commitment Letter from the security printer for printing the bank notes, in case the tender is awarded.

Note: (a) While submitting the tender for this pre-qualification, an application, balance sheet, profit and loss account and all the information and documents as stated in this notice should be submitted in English language only.

(b) All the particulars along with the supporting documents should be submitted, otherwise the application for pre-qualification shall be liable for rejection.

(c) The application and all other related documents should be well intact and submitted in a sealed envelope.

(d) ISO certificate as per Section 5 and/or Section 14 and commitment Letter as per Section 16 of this notice must be submitted to enter into the evaluation process of this pre-qualifying list.

The applications alongwith the related documents submitted to this Bank for pre-qualification shall be opened on the 36th day at 1:00 p.m. of the first publication of this notice. If the opening date happens to be a holiday, the opening date shall be the following office day at the same time.
