Expressions of Interest
The World Bank, UNDP and UNCDF are supporting the Government of Nepal (GON)’s efforts to increase access to financial services especially for urban micro and small enterprises (MSEs) and urban and rural low income households through a USD 30 million Access to Financial Services Project , and intend to apply part of the proceeds for consultant services of procurement expert. The services include the hiring of procurement Officer for the project initially for period of one year and the period can be extended beyond one year depending upon the need of the project.
Nepal Rastra Bank [implementing agency] now invites eligible experts to express their interest in providing the services. Interested expert must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (CV and other satisfactory documentary evidence, e.g., contract letter, satisfactory completion letter, etc.).
The Procurement Officer shall be a senior individual with at least five years’ hands-on experience of carrying out procurement using procedures of multilateral donor agencies such as ADB or the World Bank. S/he will be responsible for taking all actions to ensure implementation of agreed procurement arrangements.
A consultant will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers (current edition) and as per the criteria set by the World Bank and Nepal Rastra Bank.

Recruitment of the PO is an urgent priority and will begin as soon as possible. Hence, it is anticipated that the PO will be on board by September 2007. Expressions of interest must be delivered to the address below by August 17 2007.
